Righteous Judgement

By Bro. Enosh Ben Levi

In the beginning YHWH made the world and all that is in it. It is beautiful and full of moments and actions that are experienced each day.

For every moment or action there is judgement which is given to all people, animals, insects, and all living creatures, for we all play a special part in life and in this world.

YHWH has judged men, women and children in our history so that we can look back and compare our lives too. People like Abram/Abraham, Isaac and Jacob to name a few.  People we admire and look to in order to become better people.

In Genesis at the beginning of Chapter 13 Abraham and Lot (Abraham’s nephew) were in Bethel, but the land was not able to bear both families and of course disagreement reared its ugly head. Abraham was mature enough to solve the problem between the two and showed great leadership to all including THE MIGHTY HOLY ONE YHWH. The MOST HIGH judged Abraham’s righteousness when he said after Lot was separated from him” Lift up now thine eyes, an look from the place where thou art northward, southward, eastward, and westward for all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed forever” Genesis 13:14-15. Abraham is the father of many nations even until this day.

When we look at Isaac and his righteous judgment, he was in Gerar living among other people who were not living righteously in the eyes of YHWH.  They did not know how to respect a man and his wife, that’s when YHWH stepped in and took up for our second forefather Isaac.

As time went by, the men of Gerar wanted water, so they followed Isaac and whined when he found the wells of his father Abraham saying that the well was theirs. They claimed the fresh water was theirs because they owned the land at the time, so the water snatching act went on three times until the men of Gerar were satisfied.

Isaac showed his ability to have patience along with leadership and guidance. At that moment, YHWH appeared unto him the same night, and said “I am the Elohim of Abraham thy father fear not, for I am with thee and will bless thee, and multiply thy seed for my servant Abraham’s sake” Genesis 26:24. Isaac was a good man and knew how to deal with people righteously without adding problems to a bad situation.

Isaac had Jacob, the second son of twins. As time went by and a lot of drama happened, Jacob had to leave home and go stay with his mother’s (Rebecca) brothers, Laban because his brother Esau was very angry with him.

Jacob even had problems in the new land where he stayed with relatives and soon to be in-laws but that is another story for another time. Of course, time went by and what do you know, Jacob had two wives two concubines and 13 and a half children.  Now, it was time to go. YHWH had given Jacob the ok  to leave his uncle.

Jacob had a family meeting with the mothers of his tribe, and they all agreed that leaving was a good idea and the sooner the better.

Once Jacob left his uncle’s house unannounced, Laban wanted to do Jacob some bodily harm especially since he assumed Jacob had stolen his god. Yahweh had seen the wickedness of Laban and how he took advantage of Jacob and judged our forefather for his patience and ability to take care of his wives and children and that he did a great job, so when Laban overtook the family at Gilead, Elohim came to Laban the Syrian in a dream by night, and said unto him,” Take heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad.” Genesis 31:24. Jacob was a great forefather who loved YHWH with all his might and never turned his back on him. We should all love the Elohim of our forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob/Israel.

There are many people in our family who YHWH judged as being righteous. Joseph (who was sold into slavery by his own brothers) was a great man who did not want to commit adultery with another man’s wife. This resulted in him being sent to prison. He may have been put in prison, but he was given the job as overseer while he was there. YHWH judged Joseph’s ability, patience and righteousness and he made Joseph the Viceroy 2nd in charge of the great nation Egypt that saved many people including his family from starvation due to famine.

Another great forefather was Hezekiah. He loved to rejoice when he was king.  He wanted to keep the Passover, but the people of Ephraim (part of the 10 tribes) were unrighteous and unclean and did not want to participate in the holyday.  King Hezekiah wanted them to partake in the holy day so bad, that he prayed for them. When you love people, especially your family, you want everything to be exactly right. Hezekiah prayed saying, the good YHWH pardon everyone. That prepared his heart to seek ELOHIM, YHWH Elohim of his fathers, though he was not cleansed according to the purification of the sanctuary. YHWH harkened to Hezekiah and healed the people. Second Chronicles 30:18-19.

We all have a chance to do right in life. No one should stop you and make you do wrong no matter what situation that pops up. Do the right thing and maybe just maybe Yahweh will bless you like HE blessed our ancestors with righteous Judgment.

Yahweh loves you.
